Warranty on Custom Built SystemsWarranty is based on the system serial
numbers. The warranty starts from date of the invoice, and is transferable to
subsequent owners of the system, during the warranty period.
Warranty
Anderson Computer Services
warrants to the purchaser that any factory-installed part of the computer system
(excluding software, monitor, peripherals, documentation and similar items) will
be free of defects in workmanship and materials for the period shown on the
invoice. Warranty commences on the date of invoice. This warranty may be
transferred to subsequent owners.
Anderson Computer Services will provide Operating System support for the
operating system preloaded on your computer. In addition, you are also entitled
to system set-up ("up-and-run") support for the first 90 days of
ownership. The Onsite Warranty covers defects in system hardware only, and will not
include technical support for system set-up or applications software support.
Please refer to your product manufacturer for technical support on these issues,
as well as warranty service on monitors, printers and peripherals. Warranty Registration
Your warranty will be
automatically registered at time of sale, commencing at the date of invoice. How to obtain Technical Support and On-Site
Warranty Service
For Warranty Service during
your warranty period, call (416) 657-4157. Hours of operation are from If
the problem cannot be resolved over the telephone, the Service Technician will,
at their discretion, dispatch an On-Site Technician to perform the required
service on site. If you are located more than 80 km from the service location,
the Service Technician will arrange for depot service. During the warranty period,
Anderson Computer Services will repair or replace, at its sole discretion, the
defective hardware component or system, free of charge for labour and parts. The service technician will
advise you if a part is required. In this event, the service technician will
advise you what additional time may be needed to obtain the part. If the part is
user-installable, the technician may arrange to have the part sent to your
location. If on-site service is required to install the part, the Onsite
Technician will call to arrange a mutually convenient time when the part arrives
at the service depot. Onsite service hours are from
If hard drive restoration is
required within 90 days of purchase, then the warranty provides for restoration
of the system to the original operating system and software preload status.
Restoration of any other data or programs is your responsibility. After 90 days,
if hard drive restoration is required, the operating system only will be
restored. Additional charges may apply if you require other software to be
loaded. If a hard drive restoration is required due to a customer-caused problem
such as an erased configuration file or by/while loading other software, there
will be an additional fee to restore the operating system. On rare occasions, servicing
the system may require use of diagnostic and testing equipment and repair
facilities not normally available to onsite technicians. Should this be the
case, the onsite technician will arrange to have the system returned to the
depot for service. ADDENDUM
Statement of Limited Warranty
The warranties provided by
Anderson Computer Services in this Statement of Limited Warranty apply only to
Systems that you originally purchased for your use, and not for resale, from
Anderson Computer Services. Unless Anderson Computer Services specifies
otherwise, the following warranties apply if your System is purchased in Anderson Computer Services
System Warranty warrants that each system is free from defects in materials and
workmanship under normal use and conforms to Anderson Computer Service’s
Published Specifications for a period of 3 (three) years from the date of
installation. The warranty period for a
system is a specified, fixed period commencing on its Date of Installation. The
date on your receipt is the Date of Installation unless the manufacturer informs
you otherwise. For Anderson Computer Services to provide onsite warranty service
on a hardware feature, Anderson Computer Services requires that the system be
the designated, serial-numbered system and at an engineering-change level
compatible with the feature, conversion or upgrade. Many of these repair
transactions may involve the removal of parts and their return to Anderson
Computer Services. You represent that all removed parts are genuine and
unaltered. A part that replaces a removed part will assume the warranty service
status of the replaced part for the remainder of the warranty period only. If a system does not function
as warranted during the warranty period, Anderson Computer Services will arrange
to repair it or replace it at their discretion with one that is functionally
equivalent, without charge. If you transfer a system to
another owner, the warranty service is available to that user for the remainder
of the warranty period. You should give your proof of purchase and this
Statement to that user. When a type of service
involves the exchange of a part, the item becomes the property of Anderson
Computer Services and the replacement becomes yours. You represent that all
removed items are genuine and unaltered. The replacement may not be new and may
be made by various manufacturers, but will be in good working order and at least
functionally equivalent to the item replaced. The replacement assumes the
warranty service status of the replaced item for the remainder of the warranty
period. Before Anderson Computer Services exchanges a part, you agree to remove
all features, parts, options, alterations, and attachments not under warranty. You also agree to ensure that
the system is free of any legal obligations or restrictions that prevent its
exchange. You shall provide a safe
working environment for the Onsite Technician and full, free access to the
manufacturer's product. All parts supplied by
Anderson Computer Services, either defective, used or as new, will remain the
property of, and be returned to the manufacturer via the Onsite Technician. You agree to: -
Obtain authorization from the owner
to have Anderson Computer Services or their employees and agents service a
system that you do not own; and, where applicable, before service is provided -
Follow the problem determination,
problem analysis and service request procedures that Anderson Computer Services
has set forth -
Secure all programs, data, and funds
contained within the system -
Inform Anderson Computer Services of
changes in a systems location. Anderson
Computer Services is not responsible for loss of, damage to, your system or data
contained in your system while it is in Anderson Computer Services or their
agent's possession and in transit in those cases regardless of whether or not
Anderson Computer Services is responsible for transportation charges. In the event of a change in
service area coverage or other unforeseen circumstances, Anderson Computer
Services reserves the right to provide an appropriate service alternative. Extent of Warranty
Anderson Computer Services
does not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation of a PC system. The
warranties may be voided by misuse, accident, modification, problems with
electrical power, unsuitable physical or operating environment, maintenance by
or servicing not authorized by Anderson Computer Services, removal or alteration
of parts or system parts identification labels, failure caused by a product not
supplied by Anderson Computer Services, damage due to external causes, usage not
in accordance with product instructions, failure to perform required preventive
maintenance. -
Third party claims against you for
losses or damages -
Loss of, or damage of, your records
or data or software or Special, incidental, indirect or consequential damages
(including lost profits, savings,
business, use, downtime, goodwill) even if Anderson Computer Services or your
reseller is informed of their possibility whether in an action in contract or
tort or based on a warranty. -
Some jurisdictions do not allow the
exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above
exclusion or limitation may not apply to you. You agree that repair or
replacement, as applicable, as set forth in this Warranty Statement is your sole
and exclusive remedy with respect to any breach of warranty or malfunction or
defect. Warranty Period.
The
warranty service for Systems is transferable during the service portion
of the warranty period only on the system itself and contents of the system box,
that is, the computer and factory installed hardware such as: Pointing device
(mouse), Sound Cards, Modems, Memory upgrades, CD-ROMs, CPU, Video cards,
Network Interface Cards, Disk Drives, Keyboards. Monitors specifically, and
other peripherals such as speakers, printers, scanners, have their own warranty
and are NOT covered under this warranty. Statement
of Privacy
In accordance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic
Documents Act, we wish to confirm
the stance of Anderson Computer Services in protecting your personal information
(if any) contained within our computerized databases.
Collection, Use and Disclosure of InformationDuring the normal course of business, Anderson Computer Services should not require any personal information that would fall within the scope of the Act. Should it be required, it will be treated with the utmost confidentiality and restricted solely to the use that it was originally collected for. Anderson Computer Services does not share your personal information with any third party and does not sell its mailing lists. Protection of DataAnderson Computer Services has physical and electronic safeguards in place to protect any data that is collected from our clients whether it is of a personal or business nature. Access to this information is restricted to qualified employees of Anderson Computer Services only. Access to your Companies Collected DataDuring the course of our duties in dealing with your information systems we may require access to databases that contain personal information.
