Warranty on Custom Built Systems

Warranty is based on the system serial numbers. The warranty starts from date of the invoice, and is transferable to subsequent owners of the system, during the warranty period.

Warranty

Anderson Computer Services warrants to the purchaser that any factory-installed part of the computer system (excluding software, monitor, peripherals, documentation and similar items) will be free of defects in workmanship and materials for the period shown on the invoice. Warranty commences on the date of invoice. This warranty may be transferred to subsequent owners.

During the 1st year of the stipulated warranty period the warranty provides for telephone Problem Diagnosis, Dispatch and Onsite Warranty Service within 80km of Anderson Computer Services offices. For the balance of the warranty period, the warranty provides for depot service.

Anderson Computer Services will provide Operating System support for the operating system preloaded on your computer. In addition, you are also entitled to system set-up ("up-and-run") support for the first 90 days of ownership.

The Onsite Warranty covers defects in system hardware only, and will not include technical support for system set-up or applications software support. Please refer to your product manufacturer for technical support on these issues, as well as warranty service on monitors, printers and peripherals.

Warranty Registration

Your warranty will be automatically registered at time of sale, commencing at the date of invoice.

How to obtain Technical Support and On-Site Warranty Service

For Warranty Service during your warranty period, call (416) 657-4157. Hours of operation are from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm (EST), Monday to Friday (except holidays)

Please ensure that you provide the correct serial number along with your Date of Purchase (from your invoice). Please ensure that you have access to your system to discuss the problem over the telephone with our Service Technician for a proper problem diagnosis. The Service Technician will attempt to help resolve the problem over the telephone. The Service Technician may require your assistance in performing routine diagnostic procedures.

If the problem cannot be resolved over the telephone, the Service Technician will, at their discretion, dispatch an On-Site Technician to perform the required service on site. If you are located more than 80 km from the service location, the Service Technician will arrange for depot service.

During the warranty period, Anderson Computer Services will repair or replace, at its sole discretion, the defective hardware component or system, free of charge for labour and parts.

The service technician will advise you if a part is required. In this event, the service technician will advise you what additional time may be needed to obtain the part. If the part is user-installable, the technician may arrange to have the part sent to your location. If on-site service is required to install the part, the Onsite Technician will call to arrange a mutually convenient time when the part arrives at the service depot.

Onsite service hours are from 9am to 6pm , Eastern Standard Time.

If hard drive restoration is required within 90 days of purchase, then the warranty provides for restoration of the system to the original operating system and software preload status. Restoration of any other data or programs is your responsibility. After 90 days, if hard drive restoration is required, the operating system only will be restored. Additional charges may apply if you require other software to be loaded. If a hard drive restoration is required due to a customer-caused problem such as an erased configuration file or by/while loading other software, there will be an additional fee to restore the operating system.

On rare occasions, servicing the system may require use of diagnostic and testing equipment and repair facilities not normally available to onsite technicians. Should this be the case, the onsite technician will arrange to have the system returned to the depot for service.

The warranties provided by Anderson Computer Services in this Statement of Limited Warranty apply only to Systems that you originally purchased for your use, and not for resale, from Anderson Computer Services. Unless Anderson Computer Services specifies otherwise, the following warranties apply if your System is purchased in Canada and if your System is located in Canada . If you have any questions, please contact Anderson Computer Services.

Anderson Computer Services System Warranty warrants that each system is free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal use and conforms to Anderson Computer Service’s Published Specifications for a period of 3 (three) years from the date of installation.

The warranty period for a system is a specified, fixed period commencing on its Date of Installation. The date on your receipt is the Date of Installation unless the manufacturer informs you otherwise. For Anderson Computer Services to provide onsite warranty service on a hardware feature, Anderson Computer Services requires that the system be the designated, serial-numbered system and at an engineering-change level compatible with the feature, conversion or upgrade.

Many of these repair transactions may involve the removal of parts and their return to Anderson Computer Services. You represent that all removed parts are genuine and unaltered. A part that replaces a removed part will assume the warranty service status of the replaced part for the remainder of the warranty period only.

If a system does not function as warranted during the warranty period, Anderson Computer Services will arrange to repair it or replace it at their discretion with one that is functionally equivalent, without charge.

If you transfer a system to another owner, the warranty service is available to that user for the remainder of the warranty period. You should give your proof of purchase and this Statement to that user.

When a type of service involves the exchange of a part, the item becomes the property of Anderson Computer Services and the replacement becomes yours. You represent that all removed items are genuine and unaltered. The replacement may not be new and may be made by various manufacturers, but will be in good working order and at least functionally equivalent to the item replaced. The replacement assumes the warranty service status of the replaced item for the remainder of the warranty period. Before Anderson Computer Services exchanges a part, you agree to remove all features, parts, options, alterations, and attachments not under warranty.

You also agree to ensure that the system is free of any legal obligations or restrictions that prevent its exchange.
